It was the color of the low sunlight backlighting these huge creatures that drew me to painting them. It is amazing how something so big can actually move so quietly that they can sneak up on you! These buffalo were enjoying their last days of freedom before the buffalo roundup in Custer State Park, SD.

Marguerite Chadwick-Juner is a native of City Island in the Bronx where she lived and worked until a recent move to North Carolina. She attended the High School of Art & Design in NYC and got her B.F.A. from Cooper Union, also in NYC. Her works are executed, for the most part, in either watercolors for their pure, luminescent coloror a unique multi-media technique utilizing acrylics, gel medium and artist's crayons for their rich, textural qualities.
