About Marguerite Chadwick-Juner
Marguerite Chadwick-Juner is a native of City Island in the Bronx where she lives and works. She attended the High School of Art & Design in NYC and got her B.F.A. from Cooper Union, also in NYC. Her works are executed, for the most part, in either watercolors for their pure, luminescent coloror a unique multi-media technique utilizing acrylics, gel medium and artist's crayons for their rich, textural qualities. She has won competitive awards in both mediums and her works are in numerous private and corporate collections.
Ms. Chadwick-Juner turns her expressive, light and color filled realistic style to a gamut of subjects, painting still lifes, landscapes and portraits, but, by far, the largest body of her work is of maritime subjects.
Of her work Ms. Chadwick-Juner says: "To merely copy nature slavishly has no interest for me, and is not what my art is all about, even though some have remarked that certain images look almost photographic to them. You will never see an actual scene as I have depicted it because I "improve" on what I see. I adjust and design spatial relationships, eliminate or add to a scene in order to improve composition, and most importantly, I try to infuse every square inch of painting with vibrating color hoping to make even my whites and darkest shadows "sing"."
